Pavement Parking, Your thoughts?

Little Eaton Parish Council are supporting the Living Streets campaign and we believe that everyone should be able to rely on pavements being safe and clear, but unfortunately pavement parking is a major issue up and down the country. Cars, van and lorries parked on the pavements force people into the road, which is particularly dangerous for many, including blind and partially sighted people, parents with pushchairs and young children, wheelchair users and others who use mobility aids.

Living Streets is campaigning with allies such as Guide Dogs and the British Parking Association for a ban on pavement parking across England and Wales. (Excitingly, Scotland looks likely to have a pavement parking ban very soon.) While Living Streets fight for this national ban,

Little Eaton Parish Council are looking to explore where there are issues within the village and how we can take action to tackle pavement parking. Key to this is by understanding what residents feel about this issue and identifying where issues exist. We are asking residents to feedback via this short survey so we can explore areas of concern and look for possible solutions.

The Parish Council are looking to address issues raised by you the residents so please let us know where you think we should look to develop solutions. You can email your answers to clerk@littleeatonparishcouncil.org.uk, post them through the letter box at the Village Hall or drop them in at the school office. There will also be facility to message us through the Parish Council Facebook page. Please respond as soon as possible so we can add your concerns to our list.
